President’s Message

January 2024

Dear UHIMA Members and Supporters,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As the President of our esteemed organization, I am honored to address you today to discuss the future of health information management and coding. Additionally, I am excited to announce the call for volunteers for our upcoming board elections in the spring and the annual conference to be held in October 2024.

The field of health information management and coding is evolving at a rapid pace, driven by advancements in technology, changes in regulations, and the ever-increasing demand for accurate and secure health data. It is our duty as professionals to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to these changes effectively. Our organization plays a pivotal role in this transformation, serving as a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

Looking towards the future, we envision a healthcare landscape where health information management and coding professionals are at the forefront of decision-making processes, ensuring the secure and efficient flow of information across healthcare systems. We strive to empower our members with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to excel in this evolving environment.

To achieve our goals and drive the future of our profession, we need a dedicated and passionate team of individuals who are willing to contribute their time and expertise. I invite all of you to consider volunteering for the upcoming board elections in the spring. Serving on the board provides a unique opportunity to shape the direction of our organization, influence policy decisions, and drive positive change within our profession. Your involvement will be instrumental in ensuring that our organization continues to thrive and remains a leading authority in health information management and coding.

Furthermore, I am delighted to announce that our annual conference will be held in October 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. This conference is a cornerstone of AHIMA, bringing together professionals from across the country to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and explore the latest advancements in our field. However, organizing such an event requires the efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers. We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, organized, and committed to making this conference a resounding success. Volunteering for the annual conference offers a unique opportunity to network with experts, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the growth of our profession.

In conclusion, I urge all of you to consider volunteering for our upcoming board elections and the annual conference. Together, we can shape the future of health information management and coding, and ensure that our profession remains at the forefront of the ever-changing healthcare landscape. Your dedication and passion will make a significant impact on our organization and the lives of countless individuals who benefit from our work

Thank you for all you do!
