To become a member of UHIMA, we ask everyone to join the Utah Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The AHIMA membership provides the capability to network with 55,000 other health information management professionals, on-line and hard copy resource information, and a member of your local state association. Come join the team and become connected with other health care professionals! There are several types of memberships available. Student
This membership is for students who are enrolled in an AHIMA accredited or approved programs that do not already have an AHIMA credential are eligible. The cost is only $35 per year and you can enjoy all the benefits of AHIMA membership, including Communities of Practice, the Journal of AHIMA, and certification opportunities, e-learning with little or no cost! Active
This membership is for AHIMA- credentialed professionals.The cost is $155.00 and entitles you to online tools such as Communities of Practice, our Web site, e-learning opportunities, regular electronic communications, Journal of AHIMA, expert-authored publications, newsletters seminars, various meetings to ensure you're at the very forefront of information regarding topics like HIPAA, privacy and security, e-HIM™, and coding.
Associate
This membership is for professionals who do not have an AHIMA credential, but interested in joining UHIMA. The cost is $155.00 and entitles you to online tools such as Communities of Practice, our Web site, e-learning opportunities, regular electronic communications, Journal of AHIMA, expert-authored publications, newsletters seminars, various meetings to ensure you're at the very forefront of information regarding topics like HIPAA, privacy and security, e-HIM™, and coding. The difference between the Active and Associate is the voting privileges.
New Graduate
New Graduate membership is for AHIMA Student Members only. After graduation from an AHIMA accredited HIT, HIA, approved Coding or Masters program, AHIMA Student Members may join as a New Graduate Member at a reduced annual dues rate. This is limited to one year.
Senior
In recognition of service to the profession, current AHIMA members 65 and over are eligible for this member type.
