Mission Statement Executive Board Committees Membership Bylaws
Established in the 1950s as a non-profit association, Utah Health Information Management Association (UHIMA) is an affiliate of American Health Information Management Association(AHIMA). UHIMA serves as a forum to share and obtain knowledge to its members and other healthcare professionals for communicating state and national issues.
The UHIMA governing documents include the Mission Statement, Bylaws and a comprehensive set of policies and procedures that promote the art and science of health information management and improve the quality of comprehensive health services for the welfare of the public.
UHIMA members commit to excellence in health information management. HIM professionals collect, analyze and manage information driving the health care industry. They advocate patients' rights to privacy, confidentiality, and security of their health information. UHIMA strives to keep HIM and other healthcare professionals abreast with the latest developments in health information systems, regulatory updates, and practice issues.
